Five Nostalgic Stories, Kenny Price's Legacy & 1970s Church Tapes

Welcome to a nostalgic journey through five very different stories and a beautiful collection of vintage church recordings, all brought together in one memorable audiovisual experience. Take a few minutes, settle in, and come along for the ride through memories of another time.

Part 1: Backroads, Memories & Dreams (5 Stories of Life, Love & Yesterday)
From the golden age of the 1950s, ’57 Chevys, and highways where the road bends, to quiet moments before the night, weathered cobblestones, and the wide-open prairie.

1 - Back to the Fifties, 57 Chevys & Where the Highway Bends & Where the Dreaming Ends
2 - Before the Night
3 - Where the Cobbles Cease
4 - Four Sons of the Prairie

5 - Kenny Price – A Beautiful Life | Carrying the Morning
There are some voices that you hear once and never forget. "Carrying the Morning" is a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable voice, music, and gospel legacy of Kenny Price (1931–1987). Inspired by his performance of the Christian hymn “A Beautiful Life,” this segment explores the extraordinary depth of his rich baritone and resonant bass notes within a four-part quartet harmony.

For longtime fans, this is a chance to remember a remarkable musical legacy. For new listeners, it is an introduction to a powerful singer who brought extraordinary emotion to simple, beautiful songs. "A Beautiful Life" carries a message that reminds us of faith, family, memories, and a life well lived—proving that a voice from the past can still bring light into the present.

Part 2: Echoes of Faith (1970s Church Recordings)
This precious audiovisual journey captures the sacred sounds of the early 1970s, preserved through vintage shoebox-size cassette recordings.

The first half features the heartfelt hymns of the Camp Valley Young People (later known as Faith Temple Young People) at Dewville Methodist Church, beautifully recorded by Sis. Myrtle Barth.

The second half transitions to the Monthalia Singing, where various voices delivered Christian songs, all captured by my grandfather Reginald Moore and his cassette recorder. These recordings represent family connections and a testament to how technology helped preserve spiritual heritage across generations.

❤️ Thank you for taking this journey back through the music of Kenny Price and the echoes of our past. Please LIKE, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE for more tributes celebrating the unforgettable voices, songs, and stories of classic country, gospel, and traditional American music.

Album: The Best of Both

Writer: Jerry McBee

Producer: Ray Pennington

Label: Dimension Records

Lyrics:

1. Lord, in my darkest days, when I have lost my way,

shine down your light on me again.

Through trials great and small, help me to face them all,

and I will not have lived my life in vain.

2. Jesus, you laid the stones for men to walk upon.

Now gently guide me in thy way.

And through this earthly pain, just let me praise your name,

then I will not have lived my life in vain.

CHORUS:

Lord, lay your hand on me, and guide my destiny.

Just let me make it day by day.

Your spirit breathes eternal life in me,

then I will not have lived my life in vain.
